San Francisco Global Trade Council
Membership
For over 15 years, the Global Trade Council has been a leader in providing
opportunities for US businesses to build strategic global alliances and
partnerships. The Council, founded by Harry Orbelian, is widely known
for its trade missions, including missions to Cuba, Russia and China,
and for producing high level local programs and symposia on international
trade and commerce issues. The Council’s membership includes major
corporations, manufacturing and service industries, federal, state and
local government representatives and members of San Francisco’s
elite diplomatic community.
Members receive invitations to private briefings with policy makers,
government officials and trade representatives from around the world,
premium seating at the Councils’ signature luncheons and conferences,
and the opportunity to meet with the many delegations and diplomats who
visit the Bay Area. Our members also take advantage of our partnerships
with the Mayor’s Office of International Trade and Commerce, the
US Commerce Department and the US Export-Import Bank.
Many of the Council’s members have taken part in international
trade missions sponsored by the Council. These trade missions, often in
conjunction with the Mayor’s or Governor’s Office, are a valuable
way to connect with business and government leaders in those areas of
the world where our members conduct business, or are exploring new business
opportunities.

Membership Fees
You must be sponsored for membership in the Council by a current member.
The Council offers companies and organizations the opportunity to participate
at four membership levels--Platinum Key Partner, Gold Key Partner, Silver
Key Partner, plus a Bronze Key Sponsoring Partner.
Platinum Key Partner $30,000
- Provides you and your organization full access to Council programs
- “First call,” priority notification for trade and international
commerce events, trade missions and symposia
- Private, pre-event meeting opportunities with delegates and speakers
- Opportunities to host specific delegations and programs
- Opportunity for exclusive event naming rights
- Web-based conferences, including US Embassy videoconferences
- Invitations to events sponsored by the diplomatic community
- VIP seating at luncheons and conferences
- Serve as a Conferee to our Strategic Planning Dinner, the popular
annual dinner of our Board of Directors, convened to discuss and decide
future Council programs, trade missions, speakers and symposia

the US Export-Import Bank and San Francisco’s Mayor’s Office

- For approved organizations, a minimum annual event sponsorship or
in-kind contribution
